Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Giveaway / Review ENDED

I contacted Tropical Traditions after seeing all their products on multiple sites online. I was curious about their products and wanted to test them out myself. They sent me a 32-oz. – Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil – 1 quart jar to review. Their label pointed out that this product was 100% organic and a product of the Philippines.

Since I don’t cook with oil that often, I checked out their coconut oil recipe section. I found two coconut oil recipes that would fit into my Weight Watchers Plan: Soft Pretzels and Simple, Delicious Popovers. My boys and I had fun making these coconut oil recipes and learned that this oil will harden once it hits cold liquid if you don’t warm it up first. So, when the recipe says “in liquid state,” make sure you take the time to warm it up. We didn’t and when the oil hit the cold milk, it turned into a hard form of wax. We scooped it out of the mix and warmed it up. We added it back into our recipe and continued to make the Popovers. You would NOT believe how easily these rolls popped out of my cupcake tin after being coated with this coconut oil before baking! I’m going to start using this to grease all my pans! We had no idea what a popover would be like, but to our surprise, they came out as rolls with a slight coconut flavoring. We experimented with them, added strawberry jelly to the tops and found ourselves a new treat!
