I decided to test out my first bottle of Phix one night around 9 pm since I had lots of work to do and could use a little “pick me up.”  My dishwasher had broken and you can imagine the mess of dishes I had waiting for me.  I say my first “bottle of Phix,” but actually the Phix comes in drop in packs that can be easily added to your bottled water.  My phix samples came in three flavors:  Citron, Tropic and Teaberry.  I tried the Tropic one first with a full 16.9 oz water bottle.  This is a great review for me because I do not drink energy drinks because I don’t like the after effects that I’ve had with using energy products in the past.

After drinking my first Phix drink, I waited to feel my heart race, but nothing….. the drink left me feeling refreshed with no side effects.   The only thing that I noticed was a slight after taste, but no other than with any other flavored water drink that I currently drink.  I checked out the ingredients and the box refers to Phix as an all natural aid with 14 key vitamins, minerals, antioxidants.  It also states that Phix is vegan, gluten free and contains organic ingredients.  Since I am watching my weight, I do not like to drink high calorie beverages.  After checking the nutritional guide, Phix passes the test with only 36 calories and 8 grams of sugar per serving.

Phix states that their energy drinks are good either warm or cold.  Now that I’ve tried Phix at night time to help me get a little extra work done, I’m going to try it warm for breakfast.  I also think it would be great during or after a workout.  It has a great taste.  It reminds me of the flavored drop ins that I currently use to flavor my water throughout the day.

I tried the Teaberry warm one morning for breakfast.  I had woke up with a sore throat and a strong desire to go back to bed after getting the kids off to school.  The drink felt great on my throat and gave me that little push to keep going.  I tested out the Citron flavor mixed with 10 ounces of cold water and believe it was my favorite with a citrus taste.  The teaberry was good, but I do not particularly like the taste of tea and the Tropic flavor reminded me of tropical flavored kool aide.  For Phix to be a healthy drink, I have to say that I was impressed with the taste.  I have bought flavored vitamin drop in mixes before and ended up throwing them away due to their horrible taste.
