Homemade Texas Pecan Pralines

MMMmmmm, Texas Pecan Pralines from the Jefferson General Store in downtown Jefferson Texas!  For me, it really can’t get much better than that!

I needed a gift for some of my out of state friends and I ordered a few boxes to send their way for the holidays.  In my order form, I mentioned to the  Jefferson General Store that I did product reviews on my blog and that I had been to their store several times years ago and missed the taste of their famous pralines.  Yesterday, I found a box on my front porch and was so excited to see that they had sent me a dozen of my favorites!!!  Before having children, my husband and I lived in Louisiana and would take our boat out on Caddo Lake and drive across the Texas line and shop at the Jefferson General Store.  We bought a few quilts, drank a few milkshakes and always left with a Pecan Praline for me!  Going on a shopping trip in the boat was always so much fun!  Now that I live near Houston, we can’t make those weekend trips to Jefferson Texas anymore.  I still look for a new “favorite praline” but haven’t found one yet that tops the ones from the Jefferson General Store.  I have been doing a good job with controlling my eating and counting my daily calories, but when I opened that box, I ate 2 of the pecan pralines before I got myself back under control and shut the box back up:)

As of 9:00 a.m. this morning, there are still 10 left in the box, but unless I freeze a few of them, they may not make it through the week!  If you are looking for a great gift for those who like sweets, I would definitely check these out.  They are great because they come individually wrapped.  If you’d rather speak to the them in person, you can contact the Jefferson General Store at 903-665-8481.  You can also send an email to jtexgs@aol.com

Disclaimer:  Jefferson General Store was so nice to mail me a box of their Pecan Pralines so in return for their generosity, I wrote a truthful review for them.
