3 Tips To Help Get Children To Take Medicine

Once my children got so old, it was time to move on to the chewable pills versus the small medicine droppers of Tylenol.  My youngest son will make himself gag after smelling any form of children's liquid medicine.  I try to avoid the liquid medicine and lean towards the very small pills he can swallow and the children's chewables.  Now that he is getting older, he is required to take larger amounts of the children's chewables and this is a … [Read more...]

The Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden Worked!!!

In an earlier post,  Personal Review of the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden, I talked about my family's experiences with the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden.  Good news, the cocoons made it through my preschooler's excitement and so far we have had 4 out of 5 cocoons hatch.  The fifth cocoon is shaking and the butterfly has yet to free himself.  The Insect Lore Butterfly Garden has been a great experience for my whole family. Book Clubs Will Keep Your Children Reading

As a retired teacher and mother, I like to keep my children involved in reading books.  Summer is on its' way and time for your kids to enjoy themselves, but to also keep reading.  My son loves series books or often gets hooked on a particular author for a while. He is very easy to shop for, since we are always looking for the next book in the series or another good read written by his favorite author. I do take the kids to the library, but … [Read more...]

Personal Review of the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden

I just bought my preschooler the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden. This kit has been advertised all over the television.  After buying the actual "butterfly garden" where your child can watch the butterflies, you have to spend another five dollars to buy the actual caterpillars.  After receiving the caterpillars, they started to grow and change into cocoons within a few days!  It was amazing to watch this cycle in a jar in our living room.  Once … [Read more...]
